I was of the camp that awards don’t matter. But the buzz and laurels breathe long life, if not immortality, into a film. With this year’s horror snubs — think Mia Goth in Pearl, Jordan Peele in Nope (not even for something as objective as Sound Design, really?), and what about Mad God?! — it nudges me to ask: how long will we let horror be the ever-unwelcome guest in film awards?
Looking forward to hearing your answers. Spill your guts after the bump.
